spore testing?

let's say a spore test turns out badly...what then, and is there anything that could be done preventively (such as chemically) to prevent the testing in the first place...being that the preventive maintenance would serve it's purpose and prevent the spores.
just curious if anyone had ever pondered that.
and what if there is spores, what is the procedure going forward?
