OK for all who have been reading the previous thread on this tattoo I'm planing on working on. i agree with all who said keep the flow of the tattoo consistent with the curves of the body, that is what I'm now working on how to transform the tattoo so this is where I'm at now

1
i want to gray wash the back round starting around the skull and fading out over the tribal maybe starting pretty dark, then maybe work in some light shadows under the tribal like in picture one,

2 i want to add some clouds and light rays on the bottom and some ghost or gray washed flames on the top behind the tribal like i said this will be gray washed maybe with a little color for high lights some reds and blues this will keep it tied in with the rest of the tattoo, so the whole back round will start darker in the center and work its way lighter as it goes out picture 2 has the flame/cloud idea.

what do you all think of idea or ideas? I'm looking for input since i half to do this tattoo probably on Monday unless i reschedule.

I'm off to bed ill check the post when i get up around 3:30pm pacific time

ya i sleep in the day time i work graveyard lol

sorry about the sideways one i haveent opend a photobucket account

Hi Sac

Myself, I'm not crazy about the biker style flames. Just my taste, I think a tattoo style flame would work nicer. More curves, dips and ups & flow. If the flames are going to be b&g, maybe think of not outlining the flames and just shading around instead. The flames would be negative. Also, it looks like in the 2nd pick, there are maybe too many flames. I think it would unnecessarilly busy up the piece. You could have just some flame wisps coming from the clouds, with a few extra around the skull.

Just my honest opinion bro, and I'm just a bitch when it comes to flames and design.

Rock on!! gone for the weekend y'all, have a good one!!!

ya i agree and the negative shading thing sound good maybe like do the flames with negative shading and the clouds with regular black and gray shading, like i said before all of what I'm going to be doing in the back round is going to be light gray wash. I'm also doing that anthrax tattoo on Sunday morning Ill post some pictures that night,

personally..and no disrespect bro...but I'd re-do the whole thing. start from square one. and mayyyybe even nix those flames, depending...
like the bruthaz said... its entirely too busy. but.. flames or not. I'd practice more on the tribal work. Remember, tribal work isnt always about pointy tip..to pointy tip.. to pointytip... and they should flow with the piece... These kinda just this way and that. Try , just for kicks... drawing a tribal..(even if not for this piece) with no sharp corners, but round ones.....except the points...
