Looking for a stencil maker. If someone knows where to get one that is nice and hopefully not 1,500 bucks. The whole E-bay thing is kinda shakey when it comes the buying good quality equipment "That is just the way I feel" so please let me know. I saw one from Kingpin Tattoo but I havent ordered from them.I dont work in a shop either so it is kinda sticky getting somethings."Dont worry I DO have a sterilizer "first thing I bought". Thanks for any help with this.

I have (4) I use (2) in the shop and the other (2) needs a little work, IE bulb replacement, needs new wide roller belt, acuator switch, ect. I couldn't be for sure to tell you the truth, don't have much time to mess with them. You can get replacement parts from some tattoo suppliers, or contact 3M they are still manufactured and refurbished. How I come across so many was way back when my old man was in the office machine business so I knew where to look for used units. Back in the day most all public schools used the 3M's
they actually replaced the old memeograph machines. I'm sure some of you old timers out there like me remember the smell of the old blue and white work sheets in grade school, well to end this boring story look for auctions at old schools that are being torn down ect., you will find some great deals the contractors don't have a clue what they are. I'm always looking. Good Hunting

school auctions are where i got mine as well, paid 5 bucks for one, 20 for the other, perfect working order....check your local township or county paper, they usually advertize it in there about once a year.....

you dont need stencil ink, dot matrix printers use a ribbon and print with impact (kinda like a typewriter) all you do is remove the ribbon (or use an old dried up one) and run stencil paper through it.. the impact makes the transfer happen just like tracing the design would..

I have a dot matrix printer and it works great.
I haven't printed anything out with a lot of fine detail yet though

The only thing I've noticed when printing out really fine line stencils, or really intricate designs, is sometimes the "Lines" look a bit choppy... But other than that, the dot matrix is THE WAY TO GO!!
3M's are expensive, and Dot Matrix can last a long time, and can be found all the time!
If you go the dot matrix way, LEAVE THE RIBBON on it... It kinda helps protect the pins on the print head... I had a sheet of Spirit Masters buckle up on me once, and it bent a few pins... The printer was then rendered useless... Just my 2 cents tho...
