looking for a nice machine to add to my collection either handmade or a well known company, dont want no ebay machines or anything like that. would be kewl if the frame was carved or if ican choose all the parts and style but obviously you would have to build it yourself if i did that, anyway if anyone is selling machines in the uk post some pics and prices

while i definitely agree that most of the machines you can buy on ebay are absolute crap. rare treasures are to be found on it from time to time. Aaron cain and seth ciferri regularly sell on ebay along with junebug and antley irons glyn flew, so on and so forth, . I just saw a spider webb machine selling for like for 300 which is like 250 less then what he origanlly sells them for. I even saw a pulse gatsby shader go for like 175 or something recently. I dont know if they ship to the U.K but you should definitely check out turnermade.com they have links to quite a few custom machine builders who in my experience really enjoy incorporating your ideas into your machine.

yup ebay do have some awesome machines but its like 99% shit to 1% great lol, il check out turnermade.com  have you noticed though how alot of pro machines have no certificate or authenticy ? maybe its just me but i rarely ever see a pro machine on there with a certificate so deffinatly makes me weary about buying cain, soba etc from ebay

all those machines mentioned are excellent machines , but I'll take a good set of coils , decent frame , and a nice bend to my springs and keep the extra 300.00 i saved for other stuff !!
I asked a very famous tattoo artist about one of the machines that was mentioned above and he said he watched Filip Leu take a machine that someone threw away.. re-tuned it and did one of the best tattoos he ever saw ..
as long as you understand your machines , sometimes its amazing what happens ...

i agree just as long the frame material is decent not some cheep tin shit
"well i guess even with that you could throw some shorty coils on it and a yoke then you wouldn't half to worry about the tin"

a pro machine would be a well known supplier, not like american tattoo supply on ebay or something, that one on ebay is nice but im not so sure about the bronze, it has the old school look and looks great and very pro but i wouldnt buy that one, just something about it seems to be cheap and tacky lol, i want a second hand machine anyway not a brand new one, i already have 2 paco rollins and ordering a time machine next week so im just looking for cheapish ones to add to my collection and maybe customise, still want the best though even if its just for spares

I know what you mean man. at first glance it does seem a bit tacky. but ive had the good fortune to try out one of his shaders like two months before i bought one and i fucking loved it. They run almost freakishly smooth and wayyyy quieter than most machines. and it really does help with vibrations on the hands. i have red rat grip covers on nearly all of my grips just because they really do help with hands. but there just complete overkill on parish's machines. By no means am i calling his machines "best in the universe" or anything but if you can manage to get a hold of one i would just because they really are one of a kind. I fucking love time machines too. ive heard a couple people who hate on them for various reasons, and i just dont get it. i was about ready to sell a flatline i got as a gift a little while back but like a week ago i gave it a spin, and now the only way you'll be getting it from me is to quote the not so great Charlton Heston " From my cold dead hands" anyways boss bit of a rant i went on, good luck finding you new machine.

oh and dont know what your take on tacky was on it. but my first take was that something with such a care for the visual appearance of it probably couldnt have as much care into how good it runs. couldnt have been more wrong and even reading that past sentence makes me feel stupid after having seen so many much more elaborately designed machines case in point being aaron cains and junebugs damascus machines which are quite literally works of art themselves. which is what makes like tattoo machines as much as tattoos themselves man. its like using a work of art to then create another work of art. but i definitely agree with forgiven when he says that its a good idea to build a machine up from the frame with good parts and tune it to your standards and save a good chunk of change. especially that feeling of accomplishment after seeing a machine built by your hands that runs like a charm sorry again for the long winded speech
