Any of you guys ever had these?
You'll be working on your piece and the needle accedently brushes over your thumb but doesnt prick you!
I've had this happen to me. I was scared as fuck!

happened to me a few times b4. scared the hell out of me. im more careful now.

Ive hit my thumb be for luckily i always wear gloves so no problem it just bounced off the rubber i have learned to always push the peddle and let off of it right before i hit the skin.

i have several tens of dots been lucky so far but one day i wont be ...

its a trade risk. i have about 20 dots over 6 years i havent got a clue how many tattoos ive done buts its goota be 5000 plus so the percentage is small
i have tried to adjust cleaning off technique to avoid this i always get it running the needle against the tissue.. i always stoiop the machine now ..

YUUUUP... twice... and both times... about shit myself. YEARS AGO... been tested.. in the clear.. But if you werent careful before... you do it REAL QUICK...your reflexes get better and you LEARN to lay off that fkn pedal the second you draw back.

i work as a medic and the risk of catching anything is pretty small .The risk of infection after exposure to infected blood varies by bloodborne pathogen. The risk of transmission after exposure to HIV-infected blood is about 0.3%, whereas it is estimated to be up to 100 times greater for hepatitis B virus (30%) and could be as high as 10% for hepatitis C virus.If you do get stabbed encourage the area to bleed wash the area with cold running water apply an antiseptic and cover with a dressing then get to a+e where you area looking at a few heb B jabs and a lot of blood tests.

Yeh I agree, if that happened to me I would probably get checked out. I've never been pricked before, do any of you guys get any shots to protect yourself in case it were to happen? tetanus?
I would be interested to hear any suggestions.

I used to hit my thumb all the time tattooing grapefruits and what really helped me was taping a bit of leather over the base of my thumb over the glove. not once did the needle make it through the leather plus it makes a weird noise when it hits the leather so you learn to watch it, now i never even get close to hitting my thumb cause im always super aware
