This is my first on someone other than me, did it early yesterday afternoon. I couldn't get the shading going as well as I'd hoped. I was keeping the tight circles, but still on the sketchy side.I had the machine running at 5v. Was using a 7 mag at first, got frustrated so switched to a 7 rs. I found it much easier to do the details, especially in the cross. Seemed it was a little to small for the background though, I think I'll be touching up the rays and some in the future. Let me know what you think, the more cristisicm, the better!!!!

over all i think it came out really well the shading looks pretty smooth i would like to see it when it heals the only thing i would work on is the clouds they kind of look separate from the rest of the tattoo. i agree with you on the mags they do work very well but when you get into small detail i like to use the round shades to. i can get into the small cracks and put in small detail. thanks for posting some more pictures

i cant really comment im bias towards mags and flats.you can angle a flat or mag to fit in most tight spaces

I think over all its pretty good, the hands and shirt are fairly smooth and the detail is nice for the size of the piece(not over done)

the cross looks okay also but may be a touch dark in some areas

the rays, well, i think thats were it needs a little work( i know you told us that already:) ), not as smooth as the rest and the one coming out from under the cross may be to dark.

of course some of these things could be just right, its hard to tell really untill its healed fully.

i also firmly believe that pics can make things look better or worse depending on a few things so take what advice people give you and look at the work(in person) then decide if any of these suggestions really need attention or if you just need more practice takin pics:)

hope this helps, Dank

Thanks for the critique and advice guys. Much appreciated!!

If this is your first tattoo on someone then its really ok!!
Seems a little overworked, try to use bigger mags when doing larger areas, 15magshader is a favorite for me,
much easier to get smoother shading!

I think it looks great for a first time, would be very interested to see what it looks like in a few days also if you touch up later~

I spent in total about 5 hours I beleive. It's healing up pretty nice after one week. How's it look now guys? I'll definetly have to darken up some areas to match. Tried and post as big as I could so as you can get a closer look. Nothing to hide here!!

Rock on!!
