Hello Everybody,
I have read that some of the artists here are using Pig Skin to learn to tattoo. I have been tattooing my legs and using practice skin, but I would like to try pig skin for new techniques. Where do you guys get pig skin?

since you are talking about butchers.... I assume we are referring to raw pigskin? I had always figured in the past that it was tanned or sterilized in some way.... raw flaps of swine skin sounds pretty repulsive. however, I would like to hear more about how this all works and people's experiences with it..

Get pig skin thats attached to a hunk of meat. That way you don't have JUST the skin.

iv only used pig skin once and i got it from the butchers for free, it was rock hard though and didnt seem to want to defrost so i just threw it out because it was way to hard to tattoo. getting it attatched to meat sounds a better idea but not sure if they would have any like that, the place i got it from skins the pigs then sorts out the meat, i found a new place that has it though so im going to try it again and i will get it fresh not frozen cus he will be skinning the pig the same day i get it lol, you could always try tattooing a chicken, thick slice of ham etc etc, i just want ago at the pigskin because i seen someone sold a piece coverd in tattoos for a few thousand quid lol

And taste it. It is very delicious, I'm not kidding. Just cut down a piece salt it and try it. Once you are hooked up on it you will be buying it insted of popcorns :)

I'll have to try that out. I know that my dog used to love to eat pig ears so I guess I'll have to try it. Man, no prob, your machine is awesome.

No kidding. I adore to eat that shit. Just take a strip of the skin wash it thoroughly salt it and that's it. Just look out not to overeat yourself ( when I overeat myself I get sick afterwards). It is littlebit "chewy"

Just used some pig skin.
Didnt realise how messy it was, thought it would be easy like skin.
I even put abit of vaseline on after the transfer had dried but still had the same problem.
After the 1st line it just seems really difficult to wipe it away, just smudges in like paint.
Anyone else had the same problem?

I'm having the same experience. As i tattoo i wipe it down the best i can then when I'm done I take it to the sink and wash it down with green soap to check my lines.
