hey demondan, i'd help ya out if my lathe was here, but its not yet, so Im afraid i cant atm....

What i would suggest if nobody steps up would be to take an old set of coils (you are really only wanting the coil cores and washers if you cant machine em yourself) and dissassemble them. Cut the coil cores down to the size you are looking for, rewrap the coils (and then ohm them to make sure they match, you will want to wrap them with a magnetic copper wire, most use 24 gauge i believe) and then rewire em with a capasitor, lugs, etc, and shrink wrap em.

alittle bit of work involved, but you will never be more proud of a machine. Just outa curiosity, did they missmeasure or was it supposed to be that size?

Rage, Yeah the coils are supposed to be that size. Due to the size of this puppy, its a reverse jonsey look, kinda based on a national eagle, with a swing gate. I attached a pic.. oh and Forgiven, I talked to that dude about those coils, he said he could only do 1", thanks though..

if you are asking what the 2 brass posts on the back are, all the original jonseys that I've seen had those, like the jonsey roundback. I assume thats the rear binding post, and a second post for the clipcord. Not sure if the reasoning on that was with only 1 brass (all the ones I've seen have been brass) post, and the other end of the chord going into the frame (which might be a different material like iron) then the current isnt as even? Thats pure speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt

The frame is a casting of a brassy bronze and treated to give it an antiqued/old look. Both clip cord posts are brass and based on an original Jonesy they did have 2, modern/adulterated versions went for a single cord post with the other end of the clipcord mounting into the spring shelf.

Oh Yeah, this is my first post.......nice looking site so I hope I don't make a hash of things.

Dan, you get a set of coils yet?, Im about to get underway on the second of those frames shortly only just got it back from the castor (2 in total aside from my mould) so that puppy is a 1 of 2 in that material any more might just havta been in iron (or Damascus) ;)

To quick at submitting my posts.

Dan, quick tip if you have trouble gettin the 7/8" coils, A simple 1/8" Brass packer on the spring shelf will allow you to drop a set of 1" Shorties on the frame, you wont have too much of the contact screw exposed but you could always oval the front post hole out to move it further back.

Havin a few issues with my machinist at present, low priority given the workload etc.

You done much with wax? had a chat with someone the other day (remaining nameless) who suggested it big time to save on all the end drama with carving etc so im seriously considering having a shot (even got the mould latex and wax...lmao)
