hi, id just want to share my way of thickening lines:
firstly i trace the stencil with a 3 or 5 liner, softthrow, then i thicken the lines with a 5mag at an angle in a cutback, gives the line a calligraphic look and sharp edges. fast and nicer to the skin than running back and forth with the linerneedle.

ah power lining, great technique if u do it right, but it can turn into your worst nightmare, of uneven thickness in lines if not done correctly.

what do you mean with a 5mag at an angle? are you suggesting to lay the needle at more of a degree? and would that be toward the line or away from it? i was told to much angle would cause blowouts. can you explain this in more detail?

I think he means to slightly spin the machine so that the needles are making a fatter line but not change the angle that your going in to the skin.

Keep the machine itself at the proper angle, just turn it so that the tip of the needle group changes width. As if you were filling a tight spot in a tribal, you turn the mag to fit into the area to be filled. I hope that makes sense.

yes, and the edge pointing forwards will be the definitley all way sharpest, so at first tries try at spots later to be filled with black on inside
