In my members photo gallery, you can see that I have way more time pushing the bastard children of Black Ink into skin than using all my pur-ty colors that I took the time to accumulate and purchase...
Though I freely admit that Black and gray is easier, faster and...well more suited to my talents...I am wondering if any of you fine folk here consider it abnormal to not have much luck in getting color work.
Honestly, I am begging my clients and friends to allow me some time to use some of my damned colors, but my portfolio is limited to mostly b-n-g.
I really wanna push some Vince Ray or Alan Forbes designs...but it seems like all I get is muted color and tons of b-n-g requests from those who seek me out.
Do I hafta PAY some bums to come in and get some colors?
Any Ideas on how I can get people interested in color?
(Seriously!)

i did alot of free tattoos on my friends early on ...not necessarily practice but pieces i really wanted to do ...told them what the deal was ..and said take it or leave it ...99.99% of them took it ...then i learned jedi mind tricks ..
draw up some pieces you want to tattoo and conveniently leave them laying around ....tell them .."no ..you dont want that ..thats a special piece." ..hehe ..
good luck ..

if you want some color photos for your portfolio and your clients dont want color... tattoo yourself and use big bright colors then take pics for your portfolio lol. iv tried alot to get my bro into color but all he wants is black n grey or just plain black so i ended out testing a few colors on myself. not got much choice lol though women do prefer color so try chat up a chick and sweet talk her into letting you tattoo her lol

Yeah, I appreciate the feedback and the ideas.
I favor the idea that Forgiven put out...that sounds like the ticket to getting some of my colors dusted off and put to use.
Thank you all for your replies!

Almost all I ever do is color work! I guess it's cause about 80% of my clientele has been female. I specialize (or at least try to) in butterflys and other girly type stuff, mostly new school designs. I think the black and gray thing is hot right now ( you know why..Mrs. Von D) and will probably be around for a while until the popularity swings the other way ( It's already happening, check out some of the work coming out of France, the stuff looks like oil paintings)

draw your own flash
make black designs into color...for instance, tribal doesn't need to be black...
show your clients there are more options then just black n grey..
