Hi all,
Ive had my tattoo equipment for a few months now and still never done a single tattoo, so thought that I would have a mess around last week and try to do a small tattoo on my upper leg where no one would ever see it (used a 5 liner & 5 mag)
I found it quite hard to get my hand into the correct position due to the fact that I couldnt move around the area with it being on my own leg and also found that my lining was very weak (took a few passes to put the ink in).
but anyway, here it is.
be gentle lol

Ive scribbled on a grapefriut before when trying to set up the machines but other than that, the above tattoo is the only practice Ive had im afraid.

DaveGreat shading for your first on real skin, what technique did you use for shading eg: needle group, did you do light shade then darker over the top, whip shade or feather, etc etc

For the shading I used a 5mag, I started by putting in the dark first then trying to blend it out with lighter washes with a whip shade effect.
It aint great but hopefully I will improve.
thanks for the kind comments.
