Any of you watching the news and noticing the outbreaks of shit we cured a long time ago? The stuff that is coming back now is resistant to cilins and mycins.....

There is also a strain of MRSA/VRSA that is native to the soil in IRAQ that is resistant to fukin EVERYTHING!!!!!! How does that translate to us? Five years from now you are workin on a memorial tat for a guy who served in OIF/OEF and was victim to many IED attacks where he/she suffered minor injuries.......Well, because of the shit that is floating around in the soil in that area, it was passed off to the servicemember, and now your playin in it....

There are recent outbreaks of Measles/Rubeola here in San Antonio TX even after the victims had been vaccinated.

TB outbreaks are growing in exponential numbers, across the United States.....and guess what....Im the last motherfucker to get political but do you think all the illegals who are being allowed amnesty and the ones who come in on work visa's are gonna have up to date vaccinations?

Bottom line is protect yourself and your customers, if your shit aint clean, clean it....If it is clean....clean it some more......wash your hands every chance you get......wear your PPE........

naive question perhaps... but what is a "PPE"?

that is some sad shit, I have had a lot of service members and even a navy seal wanting shit commemerating their service to this country... you think this shit is really something we should take extra precautions with and how so?

I scrub my tubes, let em sit in solution for a few days, scrub again, and clave it. what else can we really do, besides the obvious usual precautions?

Leprosy has also been reported to be making a comeback here in the U.S. Wonder where that came from?

It's coming from immigrants from countries who can't afford the only effective treatment, and simply quarantine leprotics. It's certainly nothing for anyone in a developed country to get too worried about. It's a bacterial infection, and it's fairly difficult to spread, requiring prolonged close contact with someone in advanced disease stage. Also, 95% of the world's population possess a natural immunity to it. The only really spooky part of it is that the exact mechanism of transmission is still unknown to science, some 3500 years after the disease was first documented...

Thus ends Bacteriology 301 for the day...
