This method works really well with tribal flash. Color images may need different filters applied to it in order to achieve the same result.
1. Scan image to work with.
2. Open in Photoshop.
3. Select Filter, Sketch, Photocopy
4. You may have to mess with the brightness and detail levels to get what you want.
5. This is where you can modify the image if it seems a little off in areas.
Colored images may require the use of the Find Edges filter and Trace Contour filter as well as the Photocopy filter. Or you can simply take the time to use the erase tool.
Another reason to digitize your artwork is the simple fact that we all know of the mishaps of paper. It doesn't hold up well to liquids, will fade over time, can be misplaced, or borrowed indefinitely.
