where to buy magnet wire?

Hey guys, Where can I buy 24g magnet wire? I tried radio shack and Home depot ,they have small rolls of 22,26 and 30g but no 24g. I should buy un-coated right? There's allways egay but shippings a killer to Canada.

Try a local electric motor reconditioner, they should have it, if you go to one that does industrial motor re-winds they'll have the hightemp decent enameld stuff...you need enalmeld.

It's just magnet wire but the qualityof the wire (mainly the coating) is important here... There are a lot of ppl on ebay selling the stuff in any gauge you want but very few that sell the good stuff... Ya get what ya pay for here too...

in theory i guess it would be easier to wind, good price from that company, dont know the quality though.... i would try 2:1 or 3:1 size and the 200c temp rating.
need to wind up a set to give a true review thou....
